Plantar Fasciitis: Is it More Common in
Men or Women?

Plantar fasciitis is a condition that affects the connective tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. The condition is characterized by pain and stiffness in the heel and arch, and it can make even simple activities like walking or standing difficult. Although plantar fasciitis can affect anyone, there is some evidence that it is more common in women.

One study found that women were nearly twice as likely as men to develop the condition, and other research has shown that women are more likely to report heel pain. There are several possible explanations for this difference, including differences in foot anatomy and weight distribution. However, more research is needed to confirm these theories. In the meantime, if you're experiencing heel pain, be sure to see a doctor to rule out plantar fasciitis.
